High School Announcements for February 29th, 2024

Attention juniors - please see Mrs. Ruesink if you are interested in applying for Boys State or Girls State. Applications are due soon.

Today is the last chance to purchase your tickets for the basket raffle.  Please stop in the middle school office, high school office or see Ms. Rieck in the media center if you are interested.  Tickets are $1 each or 8 for $5.  Winners will be announced on Friday morning. 

Mitchell Technical College is hosting an Exploration Day on Thursday, February 29th.  This event is open to sophomores-seniors. Students have the opportunity to learn about two different programs at MTC.  At the end of this Exploration Day event, there is a drawing for Mitchell Tech sweatshirts, t-shirts, and other door prizes including a $1,000 Mitchell Technical College scholarship. Please see Mrs. Ruesink if you are interested in registering for this event. Transportation will be provided by the school.

Attention Students: You must have a positive balance and enough money in your account to cover any extras you want to purchase.  Money must be brought to the high school office before 10:30am each day.  No money can be given to the cashiers in the lunch line. If you have any further questions, please stop in the office.  Thanks. 


To all drivers: We have made great efforts to add parking spots in the school’s parking lots. Please use them! Residents that live near the school do not receive their mail because cars continue to park in front of their mailboxes. Please, do not park in front of or near mailboxes! Also, students who drive to school and park in the north parking lot, please be careful while entering the parking lot. Be aware of others. If you have any questions, please contact Eve in the office.

For anyone who needs alterations for prom and are planning to go to JR Alternations, please call for a fitting asap. All appointments need to be made before March 1st. Call Jan with any questions at 605-366-7598.

๐ŸŽจArt Club ๐ŸŽจ----Art Club will NOT be meeting starting this Tuesday, 2/13/24. When Mrs. Dunham returns from her maternity leave, art club will resume meeting on Tuesday, 4/9/24. We hope to see you in April ๐Ÿ˜Š



Cheer tryouts information meeting will be on March 18th at 3:20-3:45 in the MS Commons with Round 1 of tryouts from 3:30-4:30 on March 26-28. Final round of tryouts on July 30 and 31 10:00-12:00. Please see Megan Richeal with questions.


The basket raffle items, sponsored by the DR FCCLA Chapter, are in the high school office.  Tickets are $1.00 each or 8 for $5.00.  Proceeds will be donated to the Banquet in Sioux Falls.  Drawing will be held next week.

Summer Jobs:

Centrol Crop Consulting Inc., based out of Marshall MN, is extremely interested in hiring students that are interested in and/or looking for a summer job working outdoors in an independent work atmosphere.  Centrol is a crop consulting company whose sole purpose is to maximize grower profitability while working closely with farmers and giving unbiased recommendations for the grower’s benefit.  We are seeking to fill several positions for the spring/summer of 2024.  Positions are available in many different areas in MN and SD for soil sampling technicians, field scouts & engineering intern (Marshall area only for engineering intern).  You must be 18 years or older (by June 1st) and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, good work ethic, be self-motivated, with a sincere interest and the ability to learn quickly. You can also find more information on our employment page on our website at
